Lidy Romanuk has had the pleasure of working for Haldimand County, the community where she resides for the past 13 years. Haldimand County is a single tier rural municipality located on the north shore of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario and has a population of 46,000.
Since 2015, Lidy has been in the role of Manager of Economic Development and Tourism and has led the implementation of numerous programs to support economic growth in Haldimand County. A few of her notable accomplishments include:
- The development and implementation of an Economic Development and Tourism strategy;
- The creation of new logo and brand strategy for Economic Development and Tourism that led to a new corporate brand;
- Managing a construction project for the redevelopment of the Dunnville Farmers Market Extensive work to promote the Lake Erie Industrial lands as an important employment generating opportunity for Haldimand County and the province.
Prior to Lidy’s employment with Haldimand County, her private sector background included running two successful small businesses, Project Manager for the Canadian Farm Business Management Council as well as working for two large musical theatre producers in Toronto coordinating overnight, multi-day itineraries for the U.S. tourism market.
Lidy is the incoming 2021 EDCO President and is an active member of EDAC (Economic Developers Association of Canada). Lidy is graduate of Queens University and Sheridan College and has proudly received her Economic Development Certification through EDAC.
